We are looking for talented high school or post-secondary students (grade 11 & up) with an interest in STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, math) and a passion for working with children and youth, to assist in teaching programs at our Makerspace. At The STEAM Project, we offer experiences that give participants hands-on opportunities to learn, build, and explore. This role is fully in-person at our Makerspace in Richmond Hill, Ontario.
We’re looking for someone who:
Experience working with children and/or teens
Experience with hand and power tools
Experience with coding, robotics and/or electronics
Experience with coding, robotics and/or electronics
Assist instructors in teaching lessons to participants
Assist participants with projects as needed
Engage with participants and ensure their understanding of required tasks
Maintain a safe environment at all times
Required Certifications: Emergency First Aid with CPR-C (or willingness to obtain)
This job may be funded by the Government of Canada’s Student Work Placement Program (SWPP). The SWPP program requires that candidates be a Canadian citizen, Permanent Resident or a protected person defined by the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act.
