About this Course

Design, build, and program a remote-controlled tank powerful enough to battle other robots! Students will learn how to assemble and swap out accessories to customize how their robot battles. May the best robot win!

Course Fee

$379 plus tax (includes a $80 material fee)

Course Outcomes

DIY Battle Bots teaches the fundamentals of electricity & circuits, programming, and fabrication, serving as an introduction to how these three maker skills can be integrated to build a fun and complex project. Our DIY battle bots are powered by an Arduino microcontroller and custom 3D printed parts.

Key Information

  • Session Length: Once a week / 10 weeks
  • Technology Access: Our virtual programs require a computer with access to an internet connection. All software and tools needed will be provided to students.
  • Class Size: 10 students
  • Instructor to Student Ratio: 1:5

Virtual Course Needs

  • Any PC or Mac computer that can run Google Meets (with webcam, mic, and USB port)
  • iPads and Chromebooks are not compatible
  • PLEASE NOTE: For registrations after April 1, 2022 - project kits will be available by pick-up ONLY at our Makerspace


In-person classes are located in our Makerspace in Richmond Hill at 561 Edward Avenue (Unit 1), Richmond Hill, ON

Our project kits are shipped out Canada-wide with free shipping! We ship kits out 5 business days prior to the first day of class.
Step 3: Join the Google Classroom
You'll receive a link to the Google Classroom during the week before class starts. That's where the Meet link will be too.
Step 4: Build!
Join the Google Meet during your class time and get ready to build!
