Jay has spent over 15 years as an educator with the York Region District School Board. His past experiences include being a program director at Camp Manitou, a professor at York University, a researcher at Sick Kids Hospital, as well as an educator at The York Centre. His vision for the STEAM Project is to create and expand the program to inquisitive children, and to give the opportunities unavailable to him as a child.
Our full-time team members are integral to The STEAM Project’s day-to-day operations. In addition to our full-time staff, The STEAM Project employs over 100 talented youth in seasonal and contract positions throughout the year.
Ailsa is the friendly face of The STEAM Project. She has a background in Advertising and Marketing Communications. With her extensive office administration experience, she helps parents both on the phone and in-person and helps to make sure all our programs run smoothly.
Sam has been working with The STEAM Project since 2017. She is an Ontario Certified Teacher (OCT), with her Bachelor of Science and Education. She helps to plan the educational programs offered at The STEAM Project to ensure they meet and exceed the Ontario school curriculum. Ailsa is the friendly face of The STEAM Project.

Spencer has been involved in camps for the last several years, instructing and supervising a wide variety of programs, including sports, education, arts, and more. He has received a Specialized Honours Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology and Health Science and possesses a passion for designing enjoyable and interactive recreational programs. His focus is to create an environment where children can learn through activities and develop physical literacy.
