Please note that some of our camp locations will be running on Canada Day (observed June 30th and July 1st) but NOT on Civic Holiday (August 4th).

About the
Position:

Pre-Camp Dates: Starting in late June (dates TBD)

Camp Dates: June 30 – August 22 (8:45 AM – 4:15PM)

We are looking for fun and professional Wellness Coordinators to join our Summer 2025 camp team. Wellness Coordinators are integral to our summer leadership team and help ensure the health and wellbeing of our campers and staff. They promote sun safety, hydration, the safe use of program materials and equipment, and tend to our campers and staff when they aren’t feeling well or need minor medical attention. When not tending to campers and staff, the Wellness Coordinator gets involved in other aspects of camp like special programs, cabin time, and choice periods.

Our Ideal Candidate:

Requirements

Currently enrolled in or graduated from a post-secondary nursing program or working as a healthcare practitioner

Previous experience in a supervisory role

At least two years of experience working with children, preferably in a camp or recreational setting.

Full weekday availability throughout July and August, with select training days in June.

Considered an Asset:

Experience in a clinical setting or as a student nurse.

Role & Responsibilities

Serve as the primary point of contact for health and wellness, ensuring the well-being of all children and staff.

Train staff on wellness policies and ensure adherence to foster a healthy environment.

Organize and manage child and staff health records, including allergies, medications, and behavior notes.

Provide care for any health or medical incidents and document/report accordingly.

Communicate with counsellors, camp families, instructors, and the Leadership Team on health-related matters.

Manage Wellness Station inventory and request supply replenishment as needed.

Communicate with counsellors, camp families, instructors, and members of the Leadership Team on an ongoing basis regarding health and wellness related issues

Actively engage in camp activities when not tending to health care duties.

Additional Requirements

Vulnerable Sector Screening Check (upon hire)

Current Standard First Aid with CPR-C (or willingness to obtain)

This job may be funded by the Government of Canada’s Student Work Placement Program (SWPP). The SWPP program requires that candidates be a Canadian citizen, Permanent Resident or a protected person defined by the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act.
