We are looking for an Ontario Certified Teacher (OCT) with an interest in STEAM topics (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics) and a passion for educating older children and teens.
This role is fully in-person at our Makerspace in Richmond Hill, Ontario.
Our Ideal Candidate:
Current Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) designation
Experience teaching science and/or math to students in middle and high school
Experience create lesson plans linked to curriculum goals
Experience with and passion for building, making, robotics, coding, and/or graphic design are considered an asset
Work in a team to develop hands-on projects and lessons relating to topics in science, technology, engineering, arts and math
Act as the team “expert” in the Ontario middle and high school curriculum
Review and revise existing programs and lesson to align with current curriculum
Lead and guide a group of instructors, sharing best teaching practices and curriculum knowledge
Help create new projects and lesson plans
Instruct programs and activities
Required Certifications: Emergency First Aid with CPR-C (or willingness to obtain)
A clear Vulnerable Sector Check from within the past six (6) months or willingness to obtain
This job may be funded by the Government of Canada’s Student Work Placement Program (SWPP). The SWPP program requires that candidates be a Canadian citizen, Permanent Resident or a protected person defined by the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act.
