About The Position

Assistant Directors are responsible for overseeing operations at their location. They are in charge of ensuring that camp runs smoothly and assisting head staff with the planning of projects and campwide activities.

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Has 2+ years of camp experience
  • Currently enrolled in post-secondary education or beyond
  • Education related to Engineering, Industrial or Graphic Design, Computer Programming, CAD, Art, Electronics, Game design
  • Previous leadership experiences working with children
  • Experience and passion for building/making, robotics, coding, and/or graphic design an asset

Role & Responsibilities

  • Committed to working full-time in May and June for pre-camp planning, and between July 4th – August 26th, Monday-Friday from 8:30 am – 4:30 pm during the camp season.
  • Lead staff training sessions for head staff and counsellors
  • Assist instructors and unit heads with planning major camp projects, events, and activities
  • Oversee all activities and lessons at camp
  • Provide support to instructors and unit heads
  • Plan summer-end staff banquet

A Typical Day

  • Conduct daily morning/end of day staff meetings
  • Lead daily morning flagpole for campers
  • Periodic check-ins with staff to ensure activities are running smoothly
  • Coordinate with external parties like guest speakers, vendors, etc.
  • Monitor camper dismissal and communicate with parents
