Bringing Creativity Back into the Classroom!

Spark your child’s creativity at The STEAM Project’s Makerspace. Students from JK to Grade 9 can learn coding & STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and math) through our in-person courses and classes. Our curriculum is developed by Ontario Certified Teachers and we provide access to advanced tools and technology like 3D printers, robotics, and laser cutters for students to learn in a hands-on, experiential way!

How It Works

2. Drop off
Drop your kids off at our Makerspace in Richmond Hill. Our STEAM instructors will greet them at the door and guide them through their 1 hour class.

3. See your excited kids!
Kids will leave their course excited about the new skills they learned and proud of the projects they built in class!

We know that it’s hard to find the right fit of afterschool programs for kids. We’re so confident that your kids will love our programs, that we offer a trial class for new families. Your child can try out our programs with no-risk, while you tour our space and can ask our program advisors any questions. Please contact us to arrange for a trial class.

Coding & Robotics (GR 3-4)

Intro to Coding & Robotics JR serves as an entry-level course for students to learn the basics of robotics and programming. By using tools such as the Micro:Bit and MakeCode to build a variety of projects, students will develop a hands-on understanding of how to use code to control objects such as LED lights, sirens, buttons, and more!

Coding & Robotics (GR 5-6 & 7-8)

GR. 5 - 8

In Intro to Coding & Robotics SR, students will learn how to build more sophisticated machines powered by the Micro:Bit microcomputer and the MakeCode program. They will begin to learn how to translate block code into Python and use it to program more advanced robotics tools like ultrasonic distance sensors, soil moisture sensors, and more!

Arduino Playground (GR 5-6 & 7-8)

Students will have the chance to learn about electronics and programming in a beginner-friendly environment, developing important fundamental knowledge and skills across both fields. Throughout the course, students will complete a series of maker projects designed around the Arduino microcontroller using components from our kit of parts. Projects include building and programming a sci-fi spaceship interface, digital thermometer, and DIY keyboard.

Inventor Series: Mini Makers

Our Inventor journey begins with our Mini Maker program where students learn skills around basic hand tools. With a large focus on developing dexterity and spatial awareness, unique projects are completed every week, combining workshop materials and craft techniques.

Inventor: IGNITE allows the graduates of our Spark program and beginners to start working with 2D and 3D design software, allowing them to translate what they see on a screen into something they can build with their hands!

Learn basic woodworking skills in a safe, exploration-based environment! Students will learn basic safety practices, hand tools, construction techniques, and finishing methods. No experience required!

Tiny Homes (GR 5-6 & 7-8)

Learn about architecture & design while building your dream tiny home! Students will learn how to create architectural scale models using 3D design, furniture design, electricity, circuits, 3D printing, and even fabric weaving!

Battle Bots: Tank Edition (GR 4-6 & 7-9)

GR. 4 - 9

Design, build, and program a remote-controlled tank powerful enough to battle other robots! Students will learn how to assemble and swap out accessories to customize how their robot battles. May the best robot win!

#1 Youth Makerspace in the GTA

Our in-person courses take place in our state-of-the-art Makerspace. We provide students from JK to post-secondary with access to advanced tools and technology to create anything they imagine! Using machines such as 3D printers and laser cutters, our students and staff are able to learn how to use new and emerging technologies and prototype their ideas to make them into reality.
